FAQ

How to prepare for my eyebrow cosmetic tattoo appointment?

  • If you have reference photos please feel free to bring these to your appointment

  • Do not thread/wax/tweeze your brows prior to your appointment. Your specialist will shape your brows for you during your appointment

  • Do not work out the day of your appointment

  • You cannot take any medications that can thin your blood (i.e. Asprin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E) 48 hours before or immediately after your procedure

  • Stop using Retinol Products 72 hours prior to your appointment

  • Do not drink alcohol for at least 48 hours before your procedure

  • Avoid caffeine the day of your appointment

Doing any of the above may cause bleeding, which will affect how well your body retains pigment.

WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Permanent makeup are treatments that replicate perfectly applied conventional makeup, most frequently on the brows, lash line, lips, and hairline. This is done by inserting cosmetic pigments into the dermis layer of the skin. Also known as Microblading, Micro-Pigmentation, Brow Embroidery, and Cosmetic Tattooing.

IS IT PAINFUL?
We use effective lidocaine based numbing creams throughout the procedure to minimize discomfort.  Usually just feels like a small scratch, everyone has a different level of pain tolerance, but the average person says it a level 2 of discomfort from a scale o 1 to 10.

IS IT SAFE?
All our pigments are cosmetic grade, meaning that they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. The ingredients used have been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. Be wary of products that have not met safety standards, including those that contain “vegetable dyes” that are unstable and may change color after time. In addition, all our tools are single-use and discarded after the treatment. Our specialists are highly trained and experienced professionals.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?
There is no downtime, however the brow will take about one week to fully heal.  The brow will soften in color by up to 40-50%. During this period, after-care procedures should be carefully followed.

WHAT IS THE PERFECTING SESSION?
The Perfecting Session, done within two months of the initial treatment, is extremely important to ensure perfect results.  We use this session to set the shape and color, and make any small adjustments if needed.

SHOULD I DO BOTOX BEFORE OR AFTER?
Botox should be done after Microblading.  Your doctor will be able to determine where to place Botox injections without altering the brow position.  Should you decide to cease Botox treatments, brows will settle at original balanced position.

CAN I HAVE A CHEMICAL PEEL OR LASER TREATMENT BEFORE?
Please avoid chemical peels or laser treatments at least four weeks before Ombre Powder Brows. These treatments can make your skin thinner and more sensitive, resulting in more bleeding which can affect color retention.  Wait four weeks after Microblading before doing chemical peels and laser treatments to allow the brow to fully heal.

SHOULD I SHAPE MY BROWS BEFORE?
Brow shaping is part of our treatment.  When you go for brow shaping maintenance after Microblading, request that your esthetician follow your existing brow shape.

CAN I HAVE A FACIAL BEFORE OMBRE POWDER BROWS?
Please avoid facials at least two weeks before.  Some intensive facial treatments can make your skin thinner and more sensitive, resulting in more bleeding which can affect color retention.  Wait two weeks after Microblading before doing facials, to allow the brow to fully heal.

FACTORS THAT AFFECT PERMANENT MAKEUP:

Oily skin: Those with oily skin may not retain as much pigment and may require more frequent touch ups. This is caused by the over production of oil in your skin. This is just a precaution, your brows will still retain the pigment and look great.

Dark skin: Those with darker skin tones will notice faster pigment fading and may require more frequent touch ups.

Mature skin: Those with mature skin will notice faster pigment fading, and will require more frequent touch ups.

You CANNOT get Permanent Makeup if:
- If you are pregnant or nursing
- Have diabetes, any skin disease or infections, or have trouble healing
- Are on blood thinners, you will need to contact your doctor and ask if you can stop medication 72hrs prior.
- Used Accutane within 6months
- Under 18 years old
